NPP suspends MP, former Minister over loss of Sissala West seat
The defeat suffered by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sissala West Constituency of the Upper West Region is causing an internecine war in the party in the constituency, as the executives have suspended a number of officials over alleged roles they played in the defeat.
The suspension of the eight officials was influenced by a petition the party executives received from concerned members of the NPP in the constituency.
The suspended members are the Member of Parliament (MP), Patrick Alhassan Adama, a former Minister under the Kufuor administration, Mr George Hika-Benson, and Mr. Zakaria Bakor, who was sacked as District Chief Executive (DCE). Others are Mr. Majeed Liman, Mr. Hudu Mua, Mr. Amissah Wibireh, Mr. Bahua Abudu, and Halidu Yahaya.
