Nigeria's former Minister of Internal Affairs and Commerce, Senator Bello Maitama Yusuf has died. Senator Yusuf, who represented the Jigawa South West constituency as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria between 1999 and 2007, died at the age of 76. He was first elected Senator in April 1999 and subsequently reelected in April 2003. Senator Yusuf a politician and businessman served as the Minister of Internal Affairs in 1979 and the Minister for Commerce in 1982.
