Consider yourself lucky if you own a Dell or Alienware computer and haven't recently checked for a BIOS update. Dell has withdrawn the 1.0.18 BIOS...

According to the reports, the BIOS update issue seems to affect Latitude 5320, Latitude 5520, Inspiron 5680, and Alienware Aurora R8.

BIOS updates for Dell's Alienware, Inspiron and Latitude PCs have been removed after multiple users reported serious boot problems.

Dell BIOS updates released recently are preventing certain laptops and desktop from booting, according to user complaints on forums. Some users have managed to resolve the issue by rolling back to an older BIOS version, while other users are unable to boot from recovery USB drives or resolve the issue in any other manner.

On some Dell PCs, including desktops and notebooks, the latest firmware update from the company seems to be causing various issues like BSODs, boot loops, and boot failures, among others.

Apparently Dell Latitude and Inspiron notebooks are affected, as well as an Alienware gaming PC.
