The April meeting of PKHope is Alive Parkinson’s Support Group is coming up from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 at Central Baptist Church Oak Ridge.

Special to The Oak Ridger PK Hope is Alive Parkinson’s Support Group will hold this month’s meeting in-person on Tuesday, July 20 at the Central Baptist Church in Combs Hall, 130 Providence Road, or on Zoom from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  There will be two featured speakers: Michael Alm of Acadia, who is sponsoring the meeting and will discuss cognition and reality issues with the group, and Mike and Lori Walker, who will discuss their experiences with service dogs and introduce the group to a service dog named Goose, according to a news release.   The meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month and are open to everyone. “Come join us and meet new friends and learn something new every month, the release stated. She will discuss GENEration, the study of Genetics and the possible links to Parkinson’s. The group will also update the status of vaccinations and exciting news on Nordic Walking.  “We will also announce May as ‘National Moving month,’ and our role in this month of activities by the Parkinson’s Foundation. Be sure to mark your calendars and plan to join us,” a news release stated.
