.Holiday Celebration With Santa Join us at the Ulster Welcome Center in Highland to kick off the holiday season with Jolly Ol’ Saint Nick on the World’s Longest Elevated Pedestrian Bridge! This event is free to attend and no RSVP is required. Professional digital photos with Santa and the Frozen characters will be available for purchase for a suggested donation of $10, or visitors may take their own photos.

Sunrise Stroll

Sunrise Stroll Celebrate the start of a new season with a Sunrise Stroll on the World’s Longest Elevated Pedestrian Bridge. During the vernal and autumnal equinoxes, the sun rises in line with the Walkway deck, making for a spectacular photo opportunity. We’re opening the gates early on both approaches to allow everyone to enjoy this magnificent experience. There’s no cost to attend Sunrise Stroll.

Hudson Valley Ramble Historical Tour

Hudson Valley Ramble Historical Tour Join us for a free, one-hour historical tour of Walkway Over the Hudson. Led by trained volunteer Ambassadors, attendees will learn about the park’s past as the Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge (the longest in the world when it opened in 1889) as well as its present and future as Walkway Over the Hudson – the World’s Longest Elevated Pedestrian Bridge – while enjoying breathtaking panoramic Hudson Valley views from 212 feet above the Hudson River. Attendees meet at the Walkway’s west gate in Highland prior to departure at 1:00 & should expect to walk 1 mile.

Twilight Music In The Park

Twilight Music In The Park Every Thursday through August 31, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation welcome talented musicians from the Hudson Valley Folk Guild and beyond, to bring Walkway Over the Hudson’s Ulster Welcome Center Plaza to life with free live music from 6-7 p.m. These concerts are open to everyone and suitable for all ages.
