Allegany County United Way on Thursday announced $210,000 in grants awarded to local nonprofits serving Allegany County.
“Over the last year, we have witnessed firsthand the hard work and perseverance of our community partners. Even during a global pandemic, their dedication to the people in Allegany County remained unshakable,” ACUW Director Amanda Joyce-Phelps stated.
Accepting grant funding on behalf of the Allegany Senior Foundation were foundation President Reita Lynch and Office for the Aging Executive Director Anita Mattison.
“In the midst of a global pandemic, where seniors and those with underlying health conditions and chronic illnesses are at heightened risk of infection or death, the Home Delivered Meals Program has played a pivotal role in securing nutritious food, social interactions and daily wellness checks that many seniors need.
