View Comments Update, April 29: The HSE school board voted 6-1 on April 28 to slightly adjust the times for the school day to aid transportation schedules. Board member Brad Boyer was the no vote. The new times for 2021-22 are 8:30 to 3 p.m. for high school and 9:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. for intermediate/junior high. A dozen parents and grandparents criticized diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts at Carmel Clay Schools to the school board on Monday night. The HSE Board of School Trustees approved her hiring in a 5-2 vote at a special meeting on Thursday, ending a process that started late last year when current superintendent Allen Bourff announced his retirement. Hamilton Southeastern Schools will have a virtual racial justice town hall later this month. The district announced the event, scheduled for 7 to 8:15 p.m. March 23, on Thursday.
