COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrested a frequent traffic violator on a number of drug charges after his vehicle was stopped early Thursday morning. Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle report in a downtown alley at around 12:30 a.m.
CPD stopped a car matching the vehicle’s description near 11th and Washington Streets after seeing the driver, Allen Tidwell, 43, of Hope, commit a minor traffic infraction.
Officers discovered he did not have a valid driver’s license. A police K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics inside his car. During a search, CPD allegedly found prescription drugs, narcotics, and other drug-related items.
