Showers with a few thunderstorms this morning will quickly race to the coast by sunrise well start to clear the sky before noon. It will be windy and warmer with highs in the lower to middle 60s. Sunny and dry over the next several days with daytime highs in the middle to upper 60s. Overnight lows from the upper 30s to middle parts of the south. A tornado from this funnel cloud touched down in parts of northwest florida, monday. Several homes and business in the town of mcdavid were damaged and thousands were left without power. Schools will be closed in that area today because of the storms. Damage as night fell over the area near century, florida. You can see numerous homes were nearly leveled, power lines and trees were down in this particular neighborhood. One woman had to be rescued from her home. Its devastating, i tell ya. Stretch of campaigning for the republican president ial candidates with just one day to go before the South Carolina primary. Will be scattered across the state today. The only candidates with scheduled stops in the midlands are john kasich and rubio is scheduled to stop by the Marriott Hotel in downtown columbia at 9 this morning. Kasich is expected to be at a town hall at senates end at 10. The other four candidates will have events focused on the upstate and the coast. Three of the candidates took part in the second cnn town hall last night, taking questions from South Carolina voters right here in the capital city. Kelvin washington was driving drunk when he rear ended another car on bluff road at a high rate of speed. Authorities say the two men riding in that car are still in an area hospital one in intensive care. Washington himself had nothing to say to reporters as he left the alvin s. Glenn Detention Center just hours ago. He posted bond not long after it was set this afternoon at 25thousand dollars cash surety. According to neighbors who live near the crash site the two victims were turning their vehicle off bluff road last night onto Martin Luther king boulevard in hopkins. The crash happened sometime around 7 45 p m. Several people say they noticed the victims vehicle ended up crashing into a utility pole as a result. Several neighbors tell me lights flickered in their homes shortly after the crash. When First Responders arrived, im told they had to extricate both men from their car in order to get them to safety.
