Western Illinois University and Hope Chicago have joined together for a new, innovative two-generation college scholarship program committed to investing $1 billion in postsecondary scholarships to Chicago Public School students and their parents over the next decade. WIU will welcome the inaugural Hope Chicago cohort, composed of at least 30 students, in Fall 2022.

Things continue to look up at Western Illinois University, including enrollment. Overall enrollment at WIU has increased, according to Vice President for Enrollment Management Amber Schultz. The Universitys Spring 2022 total enrollment is 6,980 (6,965, Spring 2021). In addition to the increase in international students, the University has seen an influx of 369 new graduate students this spring, bringing the total Spring 22 graduate student enrollment to 2,117.
