Musicians from Ambridge, Beaver & Moon earn all-state, national honors

Beaver High junior Rebecca Mizer qualified for the separate National Association for Music Association s All-Eastern Division Concert Band, which will include a performance at the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, Calif., on New Year s Day. The NAfME All-Eastern Division includes musicians from 11 states, the District of Columbia, and Europe, who performed in a virtual festival in March. Jeffrey 'JJ' Bright: Mother allegedly murders trans teen in 'gruesome' killing

(Beaver County District Attorney/Beaver County District Attorney/ PRISM of Beaver County/Facebook) Police arrested a 48-year-old woman in Pennsylvania, US, after she allegedly murdered her son Jeffrey “JJ” Bright and sibling Jasmine Cannady. Jeffrey, a 16-year-old trans boy, and his non-binary sibling Jasmine, a 22-year-old, were found dead in the family home in Ambridge, Beaver County on Monday (22 February) Police said their mother, Krisinda Bright, dialled 911 after shooting them and waited out on the porch, drenched in dried blood, waiting for cops to arrest her. She reportedly told investigators that her son Jeffrey begged for her not to shoot him after she shot his sibling Jasmine.

'Gruesome scene' in Ambridge home where police say mother shot, killed 2 children

Police in Beaver County described a “gruesome scene” at an Ambridge home where they said a woman shot and killed her two children Monday afternoon before unloading the gun, placing it on her dining room table and calling police to tell them what she’d done. Krisinda Ann Bright, 48, called police just after 1:30 p.m. and told the dispatcher she’d shot and killed her children, according to a criminal complaint filed against her. Authorities identified the children as Jasmin Cannady, 22, and 16-year-old Jeffrey Bright.
