By popular consensus, the Radeon RX 6500 XT is a mediocre GPU with gaming performance on par with the last-gen Radeon RX 5500 XT 4 GB. A member of AMDs technical staff has now tried to explain the situation by positing that the Navi 24 chip featured inside the RX 6500 XT was initially meant to power discrete notebook GPUs.

A new leak says that AMD could launch upgraded versions of the Radeon RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 XT, and the 6700 XT with the RX 6x50 moniker in Q2 2022. It is expected to run faster 18Gbps memory modules and an upgraded GPU.
