Carol Lee reached the quarterfinals of the 2023 NCAA Singles Championship before bowing out against NC State’s No. 26 Amelia Rajecki last May 25 at the USTA National Campus.
Three Aggies will participate in the NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournaments individual championships starting Monday, May 22, at the USTA National Campus. Mary Stoiana and Salma Ewing will participate in the singles championships, while Ewing/Jayci Goldsmith will compete in the doubles tournament starting on Tuesday.
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team travels to Alabama for a doubleheader against UAB and Alabama A&M on Saturday. The Seminoles are 7-6 on the season and enter this weekend ranked 32nd in the national team rankings. Junior Anna Arkadianou and freshman Millie Bissett are coming off a weekend where they won two matches at No. 2 doubles. Arkadianou and Bissett captured a 6-4 victory against the ninth-ranked doubles duo Amelia Rajecki and Mell Niller of NC State and are 4-1 in the spring season. Arkadianou is currently ranked 70th in the national singles rankings. Vic Allen defeated the No. 42-ranked Anna Brylin of Wake Forest for her team-high ninth win in singles play this spring and improving to 7-1 at No. 2 singles. UAB is 7-5 on the season and 2-0 at home. The Dragons are led by redshirt junior Adela Wasserbauerova who is 6-5 in the 2023 spring season. Alabama A&M heads into this weekend with a 6-8 overall record and is coming off a 7-0 win against Lipscom
Following a weekend of rainouts, Cal returned to the court in Miami, facing off against highly ranked Miami and NC State. Despite valiant efforts, both matches ended in losses for the Bears, dropping their record to 2-3.
