To the Governor: Maine Bill Would Allow Home Delivery of Marijuana Despite Federal Cannabis Prohibition

The proposed law would allow licensed marijuana retailers to deliver cannabis products to residential buildings with some restrictions. The law would allow delivery "regardless of whether the municipality has approved the operation of marijuana stores." This would expand access to marijuana throughout the entire state. The proposed law would also allow cannabis retailers to offer curbside pickup.

Pennsylvania Senate Passes Bill to Facilitate Banking for Medical Marijuana Businesses

The legislation would safeguard banks and insurers working with medical marijuana businesses in the state from penalties imposed by state regulators. Under the proposed law, a โ€œfinancial institution authorized to engage in business in this Commonwealth may provide financial services to or for the benefit of a legitimate cannabis-related business and the business associates of a legitimate cannabis-related business." The bill would provide the same protections for insurance companies.

Signed as Law: Alabama Bans Enforcement of Federal Gun Control by Executive Order

The law prohibits any official, officer, employee, or agent of the state or a political subdivision of the state from enforcing or administering any executive order issued by the president that โ€œlimits or restricts the ownership, use, or possession of firearms, ammunition, or firearm accessories by law-abiding residents of the state.โ€ The bill also bans the expenditure of state or local funds for the enforcement of the same.

Missouri House Committee Holds Hearing on Bill to Put Marijuana Legalization on the Ballot

Under the proposed amendment, adults over 21 would be able to purchase, possess, and cultivate marijuana. It would make it illegal for state funds to go toward the policing of federal marijuana prohibition, and do away with civil asset forfeiture against citizens engaged in legalized marijuana activities. A process would also be created for the potential expungement of previous non-criminal offenses. Tax revenue would go toward veteran services, infrastructure campaigns, and treatment programs.
