This is part of a statewide commemoration of the 400th anniversary of significant events that happened in virginia and fundamentally shaped the course of American History. That statewide commemoration is called american evolution 2019 and the determined exhibition is a legacy project of that statewide commemoration. In particular determined commemorates the 1619 arrival of the first reported captive africans in virginia.
