Former Chief Secretary Nasrullah passes away in Srinagar
SRINAGAR: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Mir Nasrullah passed away at his Srinagar residence on Wednesday.
He is 95 and is survived by daughter Dr Rubeena and son Mir Amanullah. Son-in-law of former Prime Minister Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad, said Mir Nasrullah was not keeling well for the past few months. He was laid to rest this evening. (AGENCIES)

Family sources said Mir Nasrullah was active till a few months back when he got unwell and remained bed-ridden for many months. He passed away today.
Mir Nasrullah was teaching Chemistry in the SP College when he married Shama Bakshi, the daughter of then Prime Minister Bakhshi Ghulam Mohammad. He later shifted to the administration and eventually became the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir in January 1984 and superannuated in January 1986. Post-retirement, he was Chairman of the Bombay Mercantile Bank. Mir Nasrullah was one of the two Kashmir officers who were the first into the coveted Indian Administrative Service (IAS) through lateral entry. The other officer was Sheikh Ghulam Ahmad, also a lecturer.
