Seven sub-sectors in capital could not be sealed for want of manpower - Pakistan

APP/File ISLAMABAD: Due to the shortage of manpower and engagement of police and the district administration in maintaining peace, seven sub-sectors in the capital city could not be sealed. Officials of the capital administration said the District Health Office had recommended sealing the seven areas due to an increase in the number of positive cases there. In response, the deputy commissioner office issued a notification to seal G-6/1, G-6/2, G-7/2, G-8/1, G-9/2, G-10/4 and G-11/3. A senior officer of the administration told Dawn on condition of anonymity that as per the notification the sub-sectors were to be sealed for 10 days at 8pm on April 13. But due to shortage of police officials, the areas are yet to be sealed, he added.

Capital again reports a slight increase in Covid-19 cases - Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: A slight increase was seen in the number of Covid-19 cases in the capital on Thursday. Besides, six people died of the virus in the city. Officials of the capital administration said the death of two female patients was reported in the age group of 50-59 and one male each in the age group of 60-69 and 90-99. Deaths of a male and a female were also reported in the age group of 70-79. They were residents of Tarlai, G-9, E-11, Sohan, Alipur and I-9. On Thursday, 575 more cases were reported in capital. The increase was seen after a gap of four days.

Photo by Mohammad Asim ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi saw the highest number of Covid-19 cases reported in a single day since the outbreak of the pandemic as 403 people were found infected by the virus on Wednesday. On the other hand, Islamabad witnessed a decline in the number of cases, with 508 people testing positive. Five patients lost their battle against the virus while 12 were discharged after recovering during the last 24 hours. Officials of the capital administration said during the last 24 hours, 5,493 tests were conducted out of which results of 260 males and 248 females came back positive.
