Candidate filing for school board positions across Stephens County and municipal positions at stake in Marlow officially wrapped up last week with only two elections scheduled as a result.
The official filing period, which took place from 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7 through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, allowed for residents in Stephens County to toss their hat into the ring for several positions, including Office No. 1 on the Board of Education in Duncan, Comanche, Marlow, Velma-Alma, Empire, Central, Bray-Doyle and Red River Tech Center and Office No. 3 for Grandview School District. The same filing also allowed for candidacy declarations in the City of Marlow in regards to positions for council member of Ward III, which is a three-year term; Mayor, which is a three year term; and council member of Ward IV, which is an expired t
