Battle of Franklin Trust proposes new Rippavilla contract

The Battle of Franklin Trust is a 501(c)(3) organization that manages two historic Civil War Battle of Franklin sites, Carter House and Carnton, in Franklin. Interim city administrator Pam Caskie said BOFT was the only applicant to submit a contract proposal, and that a new management contract would likely go up for a vote in May. If approved, the contract would go into effect May 24. The city owns the historic property. For me, it s important that we get the contract right, that we recognize all the things that need to be in this contract when you have a contract operator from another jurisdiction, Caskie said. It is our intent for the Battle of Franklin Trust to begin their management contract on May 24, which is the day after the last wedding that we have to oversee. This letter of intent sets forward what would happen with the contract.

Two new Spring Hill sidewalk projects identified for 2021-2022

The Daily Herald At least two new projects could be added to the Spring Hill Neighborhood Sidewalk and Greenway Plan as part of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen s upcoming 2021-2022 fiscal budget. Spring Hill Senior Project Manager Missy Stahl presented the proposed projects on Monday during BOMA s non-voting work session. The projects include pathways to be installed at the Winter Park and Spring Meadow subdivisions, which would cost approximately $158,900. The projects are also staff-identified items, meaning the funding wouldn t require any additional revenue spending from the neighborhoods Home Owners Association. Although the final numbers slightly exceed the city s $150,000 sidewalk project budget, Stahl said the city s Transportation Advisory Committee recommends it be increased to cover the full $158,900 amount.
