MADISON, Wis. -- Madison Metropolitan School District families and stakeholders will get a chance to connect with administrators on the issues that matter to them later this month.

Salad bars are now available in many schools during lunch, new menu items are rolling out and Nuestro Mundo will pilot a program to make food from scratch on site.

School board member Nicki Vander Meulen launched an effort to reconsider the changes during Mondays school board meeting, but no longer board members had signed on as of Friday afternoon.

"It is a very hard decision to make and then also to come to terms with, but what is the other alternative?" School Board member Maia Pearson said.
