With postseason play looming eight days away, the Norfolk Auto Center Seniors hoped to gain some positive momentum from Thursday’s home doubleheader against North Platte First National Bank.
The Norfolk Auto Center Seniors had some good opportunities but nevertheless were defeated by Lincoln Northwest Strasburger Orthopedics 6-3 on senior night Wednesday at Veterans Memorial Park.

Norfolk took both games late on Sunday as they swept the North Platte FNBO Juniors, 5-4 and 7-4, at Bill Wood Field.
“I think our inexperience came out today,” Juniors coach Ryan Jones said. “They were a little high on themselves after yesterday and I don’t think we were as ready to play today as we were yesterday. It was a couple of close ballgames. It could’ve went either way and unfortunately, we lost both of them.”
In the first game, North Platte (2-2) went up in the first inning when Cooper Hill hit a two-run double that landed near the foul line in left field.
