The $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders' Fund (DSBF) final for three-year-old trotting males is shaping as a likely showdown between Blue Devil and Rhett as both geldings completed sweeps of their preliminary divisions on Tuesday (Dec. 7) at Dover Downs.

Nanticoke Racing's LGs Reed O Wen ($2.80, Jim Morand) won his second straight race in 2:02.1 on Wednesday (Sept. 15) at Harrington Raceway in preparation for upcoming two-year-old Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) trotting stakes action.

The richest card of the season welcomed fair goers Thursday night at the annual Governor’s Day program at Harrington Raceway during the Delaware State Fair. Several years ago, Chris Coyle was raising a young female trotter for Sarah and John Swart Jr. at his Olive Branch Farm. Coyle told them more than once they had a nice-looking filly and he had high hopes for her. When Eric Foster’s teenage daughter Emmy christened one of the family’s homebred filly trotters Emmys Mayflower, Foster was not a fan of the name. “I told her I wish she named her something besides that,” Foster said with a laugh. “I didn’t think that was a very good racehorse name, a winning name.
