This year s Paekākāriki Film Festival will feature more than sit-down films.
The festival theme will be centred on capitalism and social inequality and will include a fancy dress party, a silent film accompanied by live music, and Q+A with a film director and cast members. All the films are trying to make sense of where the money is in the world, festival curator Andrew Armitage from Aro Video said.

An academy is set to be launched this month to help businesses hone their digital skills.
The Digital Skills Academy has been created by the Digital Tech Cumbria programme and will begin on March 16.
Topics scheduled so far include digital marketing, e-commerce, new product and service development, cloud computing and automation with cyber security and other topics in the pipeline.
Janet Addison is business development manager for Digital Tech Cumbria.
She said: âDigital technology was already changing the way we worked, lived and communicated before the pandemic and COVID-19 has really accelerated those changes. There are impacts on how we run our businesses, how we manage our people and our money, and how we find new customers.â
