early this morning in texas, 53-year-old andrew joseph stack replaced the website for his small software engineering company with a 5,000-word fairly incoherent screed about the evils of the irs and a lot of other more or less coherent things that made him feel victimized and alienated and angry. mr. stack then apparently set fire to his own house. he then drove to an airport, got into a piper cherokee single-engine airplane, and then he crashed it into a building in northwest austin, texas. it s a building that houses federal offices, including those of the irs. the pilot was killed. 13 people on the scene were injured, two of them critically. an fbi spokesman has told the austin american statesman another body was recovered at the scene after the body of mr. stack, the pilot. law officials declared this a criminal act, not under the
morning, what can you tell us? considering the amount of damage here and it is quite massive, it does raise questions as to whether andrew joseph stack loaded that plane with some other type of fuel. let s walk through what happened yesterday. around 10:00 investigators say that andrew joseph stack flew that single engine plane into the lower portion of the building. about 200 people were inside. many of them federal government workers, irs workers. about 13 people were injured. two seriously. in the end two people died including one federal worker and stack himself. before that about 45 minutes before that, he had set fire to his own house before going to a nearby airport and securing that plane and then ramming it into the building here. before all of this happened, he left an online rant. he had some type of dispute and some type of ongoing beef with
