What was Christchurch like when The Press first hit the streets in 1861?
We move in closer to the South Island and focus on Christchurch, nestled between the Waimakariri River and the Port Hills. As time continues to spool backwards, the plains, the Port Hills and the Banks Peninsula sprout trees and bush that push in towards the shrinking city.
