Kamil Stoch
Only three days after his triumph in the 69th 4-Hills-Tournament, Kamil Stoch also won the first of two World Cups in Titisee-Neustadt. In an exciting competition, the three-time Olympic champion presented himself in outstanding shape on the Hochfirst-hill and came in ahead of Norway s Halvor Egner Granerud and his teammate Piotr Zyla.
After this first round, Kamil Stoch was second behind his teammate Dawid Kubacki, but Kubacki then had difficult conditions in his second jump and dropped to seventh overall. This cleared the way for Kamil Stoch today. Besides today s winner, also Piotr Zyla (3rd), Andrzej Stekala (5th), and Dawid Kubacki (7th) finished in the Top 7, the Polish team keeps performing at an extremely high level. Poland also leads the Nations Cup with a total of 2286 points, ahead of Norway (2144 points) and Germany (1933 points).
Halvor Egner Granerud opens World Cup weekend with a win
Halvor Egner Granerud
The World Cup weekend in Titisee-Neustadt started with a prologue-win of Norway s Halvor Egner Granerud. The overall World Cup leader posted a jump of 140 m and came in ahead of Poland s Dawid Kubacki (139 m) and Marius Lindvik of Norway (141 m).
There were some long jumps on the first day of the Ski Jumping World Cup in the Black Forest. Andrzej Stekala and Jakub Wolny landed at 146 resp. 143 m in the training rounds, the good conditions and the perfectly prepared Hochfirst-hill allowed for long jump with it being dangerous for the athletes. In the prologue, it was then Ski Jumping at its finest. Austria s Daniel Huber had the longest jump in this round with 142.5 m, he finished fourth and proves the ambitions for a podium of the Austrians this weekend.
Karl Geiger
It was an amazing opening competition of the 69th 4-Hills-Tournament in Oberstdorf. After his Covid infection, Karl Geiger won the opener ahead of Poland s Kamil Stoch and Norway s Marius Lindvik. Geiger now has a very good chance of becoming the first overall 4-Hills-Tournament winner from Germany since Sven Hannawald in 2002.
It was definitely an exciting first competition of the 69th 4-Hills-Tournament. Favorite Markus Eisenbichler provided the first highlight of the final round with his 142 m jump. With this longest jump of the day, Eisenbichler could move up from 26th to fifth overall, his first jump was not good enough for an even better result today. Eisenbichler still has a chance to claim the overall title after this first competition. The top contender, Halvor Egner Granerud, finished just ahead of Eisenbichler in fourth. His chances to secure the title also remain very good.

Fourth World Cup win in a row for Halvor Egner Granerud
Halvor Egner Granerud
Halvor Egner Granerud remains the Man of the Hour among the world s best ski jumpers. The 24-year-old Norwegian claimed his fourth World Cup win in a row on Saturday in Engelberg. On the Titlis-hill in Engelberg, Granerud came in just ahead of Poland s Kamil Stoch and Anze Lanisek of Slovenia. Markus Eisenbichler was fourth.
Even if the competitions are very close recently, in the end, Norway s Halvor Egner Granerud always finishes on top. At least in the last four World Cups (1x Ruka, 2x Nizhny Tagil, 1x Engelberg) the man of the Asker Skiklubb was unbeatable.
