AFTER weeks of controversies, former Nigeria Ambassador to the United States, Professor George Obiozor, yesterday, emerged as the new President -General of Ohanaeze , succeeding John Nnia Nwodo.
Obiozor won the election conducted by the election committee led by Gary Enwo Igariwey, set up by Nwodo. The election was held at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
After Goddy Uwazurike and Eze Chukwuyere Nwebo stepped down, Obiozor polled an unassailable 304 votes to beat two other contenders- Uju Okoro (three votes), and Valentine Oparaocha (15 votes)

A Special Stakeholders’ meeting for the forthcoming APC Party registration exercise, the unveiling of Party’s Blue Print 2021 and reconciliation of the members of the All Progressives Party (APC) in Anambra State has been held in Awka Anambra State.
The stakeholders’ meeting was convened at the instance of the Executive Chairman of the Party State Caretaker Committee led by Chief Sir Basil Ejidike (Ikwelle Nnabuenyi) at Olivia Montage Hotels Awka Anambra State.
• Southeast APC seeks unity
All hopes that leaders of Southeast geopolitical zone would play as united team towards the 2023 general election cycle were shattered yesterday, when stakeholders from the zone met in Owerri.
Apart from the most recent joiner to the party, Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi, who was represented by Senator Anthony Agbo, most aboriginal members like immediate past Imo State governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, were conspicuously absent from the grand meeting. x

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, while speaking yesterday at the party’s stakeholder’s meeting in Owerri, said all hands must be on deck for this all-important assignment.
Uzodimma said the party would become stronger in the zone if APC produced the next governor in Anambra State, urging stakeholders to shelve their differences to uplift the party.
Uzodimma, while highlighting some of the grievances and issues inhibiting the growth of the party in the zone, stressed the need for the immediate commencement of a reconciliation process to strengthen the party.
