Local black-owned businesses awarded 2K grants to rebound from COVID-19 pandemic The Colorado Restaurant Association is helping Black-owned businesses across the state rebound from the pandemic. and last updated 2021-04-20 11:25:08-04 COLORADO SPRINGS — To help Black-owned businesses rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Colorado Restaurant Association, Colorado Restaurant Foundation, and Planterra Foods have awarded $2,000 grants to nine across the state. Planterra Foods contributed to the CRF’s Angel Relief Fund to divide funds among Black-owned restaurants to incentivize repeat dining through gift cards. Restaurants will use the funds to pay for gift cards to give to customers to entice them to return and dine again. Customers who visit these restaurants and spend at least $25 will receive a $25 “thank you” gift card to use at a later date.

Helen Robinson Several eateries located in southern Colorado were recipients of OZO Good Relief Worker Fund grants, made possible through the  Colorado Restaurant Association, the Colorado Restaurant Foundation and Planterra Foods. The OZO Good Relief Worker Fund is a Dine Out to Help Out campaign to help Black-owned businesses and their employees weather the COVID-19 crisis, a news release said. The only thing you need to do to contribute is upload photos of your favorite restaurant memories to the Living Love Wall, an online photo collage, and restaurant tech company SpotOn will donate $3.03 to the Angel Relief Fund (up to $10,000). So take a look at your camera roll and upload all those food photos to a place where they ll do some good instead of just annoying your friends.
