Los bomberos del estado de Oregón lograban el viernes avanzar en su lucha sin cuartel contra el mayor incendio forestal que azota en estos momentos a Estados Unidos, gracias a días de combate contra las llamas y a una reducción en la fuerza de los vientos.
El 40% del incendio, llamado Bootleg, estaba ya controlado, aunque no antes de que destruyera unas 70 viviendas, informaron los bomberos.
“En este momento, este es el cuarto incendio más grande que sucede en Oregón desde 1900. Y las condiciones climáticas, ventosas y secas, con relámpagos, son realmente problemáticas. Se perfila como otra temporada difícil de incendios forestales”, advirtió la gobernadora de Oregón, Kate Brown.
