CANTON – The Canton Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution recognized its 2021 class of Everyday American Heroes in a ceremony on April 7 at the LaPizzaria restaurant.
Now in its 13th year, the Canton Chapter DAR Everyday American Heroes program recognizes local citizens who do their best to give back to help others and the community. Past Regent Audrey Morrison is the committee chair.
This year s Heroes include:
John Huntsman, a teacher at Crenshaw Middle School, who is making desks and distributing them to students who have no private space to do homework.
Jac Compton, a senior at Central Catholic High School, while in the hospital with COVID-19, saw a need for a means of communication between patients and loved ones. He saw a small heart-shaped device, which records messages and is held in the palm of one s hand and is squeezed to hear the recorded message.
