Captains For Clean Water, the Florida-based advocacy group founded to address the state’s water issues, said this year’s iteration of the Florida Skiff Challenge will kick off April 8 at Flora-Bama on Perdido Key in the Panhandle.
The 1,300-mile, nonstop race around the Florida peninsula is expected to finish April 10 at Fernandina Beach.
Race founders said that the Skiff Challenge started as a battle for bragging rights and evolved into an annual event that spotlights the state’s water issues, led by CFCW and boatbuilders.
Five teams will participate in the sixth running of the race:
