19 cats, 3 dogs seized from Port Huron home

Officials seized 19 cats and 3 dogs from a Port Huron home after receiving a report of animal cruelty and hoarding Monday.
Central Dispatch was advised there were a number of cats, several dogs, and a raccoon inside the home on the 700 block of Tunnel Street, according to the Port Huron Police Department.
Officers found the residents living in deplorable conditions and many cats were seen. At 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, officers with the Criminal Investigative Division and Animal Control/Support Services officer, as well as county animal control conducted a joint operation at the home. A search warrant was executed and the 19 cats and three dogs were seized. No raccoon was located.
