The mess left behind by fly-campers at Thirlmere last weekend, credit: Mathew Brotherton There was outrage last weekend as footage came out of the mess that had been left by a group of fly-campers at Thirlmere. As well as tents, the fly-campers had left camping chairs, empty bottles and cans, laughing gas canisters, plastic waste, and wet wipes. Litter pickers who attended the scene collected 13 bags of rubbish and spent hours dismantling and separating what was left of the camp. We asked readers whether they thought there would be an increase in fly camping over the coming weeks. Here’s what you had to say.
