Bruin blocks have secured another win. UCLA women’s volleyball (4-1) participated in the Long Beach State Tournament, where they conquered Indiana (3-3) on Friday and Long Beach State (2-3) on Saturday.

The Bruins are preparing to face old and new faces as they head back to the West Coast. UCLA women’s volleyball (2-1) will take on Indiana (3-0) on Friday and Long Beach State (1-1) on Saturday in the Long Beach State Tournament taking place just south of Westwood.

The Bruins closed their Louisiana trip with a first-of-its-kind victory. UCLA women’s volleyball (2-1) clinched a three-set victory over Northwestern State (0-4) on Monday. The Bruins managed a start-to-finish domination against the Lady Demons in the squads’ inaugural matchup.

After introducing an entirely new coaching staff, UCLA women’s volleyball is gearing up for its 2023 campaign following a narrow miss of the NCAA playoffs last year.

The Bruins are commencing their season with a three-week road trip for the third consecutive year. Competing in this year’s Tiger Classic, UCLA women’s volleyball will meet LSU for the first time in over a decade Friday and Saturday, followed by a Northwestern State matchup Monday morning – the first in program history.

Nine months ago, the Bruins fell short of an NCAA playoff bid for the third time in a decade. This time around, Anna Dodson said there is no question regarding whether the squad can reach the national stage.

Anna Dodson is driven by her desire to serve rural populations, particularly her hometown of Bunn, North Carolina. As a physician, she plans to return home to be her community's primary care provider.
