terrorists possibly plotting an attack inside europe. now more countries are issuing advisories. we have what you need to know. we ll begin tonight with the findings of a new study at fort detrick. good evening. i m brian bolter. and i m shawn yancy. neighbors living near the base were stunned when the state announced today more than 1,000 cases of cancer do not add up to a cluster. fox 5 s roby chavez live in frederick now with the details. reporter: shawn, let s be very clear. this was an initial study. there s no definitive answer at this point. in fact, officials stress this is a very limited analysis and that it will be a while before they re determined whether or not there is a cancer cluster here. tonight they admit with the findings released tonight that their method does have limits because it did not include all of the data. again this is only the first study. so officials stress we may have to dig deeper before we know for sure whether or not there is a cance
police since 2003 joining the force three years after graduating from maryland in 2000. i love being around the university. i always have. for me this is personally like my own little municipality. reporter: he said typically the campus and the college park community is a quiet place with a lot of interaction with students. officers normally will be out patrolling looking for a traffic stop, any violations, just kind of being a visible presence around the university. reporter: but recently crime has captured the headlines. there was a wave of robberies in college park near campus at the start of the school year and last night a student mugged on campus. when you have some people that come back quite frequently to the campus that you know have no business on campus. reporter: that has led to an increase in patrols by campus and county police. in addition to the officers, hundreds of cameras are watching different parts of campus. in fact, one of those cameras caugh
showing up near bethesda, near the american legion bridge and especially in to prince georges county, points east. that s where it is really picking up. you can see it there from clinton to brandywine, even in dunkirk, still have a little bit of heavier rain here. this is drifting north. upper marlboro and clinton. i want to make another stop to show you toward frederick, maryland, you have showers coming from the dulles area through west of montgomery drifting to the north. as we look at the weather computer, you are going to see improving conditions for the afternoon. all of this, the big stuff is in to pennsylvania and heavy rain from williamsport back to altoona and the south and west, even a couple of breaks. we may see brightening to the skies. we ll take it because temperatures will struggle this afternoon. mid-50s for 3:00 and 6:00 and low 50s at 9:00 as fewer and fewer showers but winds from the north at 10 to 15. it s raw. there s improvement for us as we head to
that crash happened right in front of the mayor s house. fox 5 s matt ackland in the newsroom. police say this happened around 4:00 this afternoon when three men walked into a carry- out restaurant with guns. one customer and two employees were robbed. it was here at the eastern carry-out along eastern avenue where police say the three men walked in with semiautomatic weapons and robbed three people. after the robbery a lookout was issued for a dodge intrepid. the vehicle was spotted along lincoln avenue. takoma park police say the car overturned near the 300 block of lincoln avenue. you can see it slammed into another vehicle as well. all of it happened right in front of the takoma park mayor s home. mayor bruce williams thinks the vehicle was going too fast when it hit speed bumps on his street. hit the speed bump, slipped and scooted. reporter: two suspects were taken into custody at the accident scene, a third made a run for it. that suspect was later found with the
