CASS COUNTY, Mich. – One person was arrested on various drug-related charges after the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team searched a property Tuesday, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Detectives served a search warrant in the 100 block of Ashland St. in Dowagiac on suspicion that the selling and use of illegal drugs was taking place, reports said.
Detectives searched the residence and found alleged crack cocaine and a large amount of cash, detectives said. They also found items that indicated the manufacturing and selling of drugs was happening at the location, reports said.

HOWARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday in Howard Township.
Around 7:30 p.m., Cass County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from a civilian who said they were being shot at in their vehicle by the occupant of another vehicle. Information was also received that indicated two vehicles were north bound on Barron Lake Road.
Arriving deputies stopped a Chevy pickup truck near Barron Lake Road and Pokagon Highway that had a flat tire. It was then determined that this was one of the involved vehicles, and all damage was firearm related.
