DUMBARTON FC has parted company with manager Jim Duffy following the expiry of his contract. In a statement on its website, the club said discussions took place after a difficult season , and it was agreed a new challenge would suit both parties. The club continued: Jim had been in charge since October 2018 and has steered the club through the recent turbulent times of the Covid-19 pandemic. After two sixth-placed league finishes, he recently ensured that the club will compete in League One again next season, having won the playoffs by defeating Stranraer and Edinburgh City over two legs. Jim also, to his great credit, continued as our manager despite suffering a major health scare in June 2020, from which he has since made a full recovery.
