An Apache Junction officer was hospitalized Tuesday after being shot, police said.  The officer was shot just before 4 p.m. near Crismon Road and Apache Trail near Mesa, Apache Junction Police Department spokesperson Marshall Harshman said. Apache Junction police identified the officer who was shot and wounded while investigating a stolen vehicle Tuesday as Brian Brugman.
