Chinas top diplomat, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, has stated that China is willing to play a constructive role in the success of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. This comes after President Xi Jinping did not attend the annual Group of 20 (G20) summit in India, prompting the US to suggest that China was "giving up" on the G20. Wang also expressed hope that the US would create better conditions for the smooth holding of the APEC meeting.
