Kauaʻi Community College's honeybees are among the last disease-free hives in Hawai'i : Big Island Now
Bee populations in the United States are declining due to a parasite called the Varroa mite that’s also been found on Oahu and the Big Island. Kauaʻi Community College’s Apiary Project has one of the few disease-free honeybee sites left in the state.
