Karol 'Bo' Bobko, who was the only NASA astronaut to fly on the first launch of two space shuttle orbiters, has died at the age of 85. In total, Bobko logged 16 days, 2 hours and 3 minutes in space.
"We've even earned the title of Rocket City USA and to take that rocket down is sort of a slap in the face of all the engineers and research and development people at Redstone Arsenal, and I just don't like it [the removal] at all" Butler said.
A medallion that was flown to the moon for a member of NASA's astronaut corps opened for bids at just $100. The same astronaut's copy of a checklist he used on his first launch also listed for $100.
