In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said "convergence of the leading tech nations of the world" around making user safety the primary objective for any tech policymaking is a good forward step.

A day after opposition leaders claimed to receive alert messages from Apple regarding state-sponsored attackers, BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya alleged a connection to billionaire George Soros. Responding on social media platform X, Malviya suggested that the oppositions notifications about Access Now were not coincidental. Apple clarified that it couldnt attribute threat notifications to specific attackers, prompting the government to request Apples cooperation in the investigation.

Days before Apple warned some users, including opposition MPs in India, of "state-sponsored attackers" trying to remotely compromise their devices, a government advisory had addressed "multiple vulnerabilities" in the company's products.

Members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology (IT) are likely to raise the 'Apple warning' issue in the next meeting of the panel.
