A small group of conservation curious volunteers showed up at Riverwood Nature Center on the morning of April 23 to help the states DNR fisheries technician Skye Matson and his Osceola High School volunteer assistant Mazie Gillespie transfer several thousand rainbow trout into the Apple River from the shore of the nature center.

(Hudson, WI) -- The Minnesota man convicted of fatally stabbing a Stillwater teen and wounding four others on the Apple River in western Wisconsin will be sentenced on July 31st.

This week, the sentencing date in the Apple River Stabbing Trial was scheduled: July 31, in St. Croix County Circuit Court in Hudson at 8:30 a.m. Nicolae Miu was found guilty of first-degree reckless homicide for the death of Isaac Schuman, 17, last week, stemming from an altercation on Apple River near Somerset, Wis. in 2022.
