NEW ORLEANS — I recently revisited the city of New Orleans, 45 years after receiving my last academic degree from Tulane University. In my first report, I wrote about the opera Blue that we attended there, as well as a visit to the Laura Plantation a few miles up the Mississippi River.

The Workers Circle has resigned from the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, shrinking the umbrella group’s contingent of progressive groups. (JTA) — The Workers Circle has resigned from the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, shrinking the umbrella group’s contingent of progressive groups.

A Jewish progressive activist group said it is pulling out of the Conference of Presidents over disagreements about the US, Israel, and antisemitism.
