Sen. Conmany Wesseh Warns
River Gee County Senator, Conmany B. Wesseh, has expressed frustration over the continuous illegal gold mining activities in his county.
Gold is one of the three major mineral resources that generate revenue for the country, but illicit mining of it and diamonds has posed challenges that other lawmakers, including Rivercess Senator Wellington Geevon Smith, have raised the same concern and even invited Lands, Mines and Energy Minister Gesler Murray recently to explain the rampant illicit mining activities.

Wesseh said the illicit mining activities by hundreds of Liberians and foreigners are not making any positive impact in the development of the county, but instead causing environmental damage.
