Gold Key – Guestroom Upscale The Highlights: The design takes inspiration from the city’s heritage, weaving in Cancún’s street art and mural scene, over which is laid the concept of “Diving into the Cenote,” a signature experience among Mexico’s bountiful natural wonders. Guestroom headboards are composed of regional tropical wood planks arranged in a simple chevron pattern. Then considered a leading example of ecotourism, the newly constructed resort stays true to the original property’s vision of “earth in balance,” with its footprint and structures remaining the same as when they first e...

Gold Key – Lobby Luxury The Highlights: Every aspect of the resort’s setting is echoed in the lobby’s design, which was refreshed as part of a multimillion-dollar renovation of the renowned, formerly independent 358-key Bacara Resort now flagged as a Ritz-Carlton. Nature-inspired accents, the brand’s signature oceanic blue tones, opalescent surfaces, and woven textures pay tribute to the area’s original residents. Old World elements combined with a relaxed, Spanish Mission vibe echo t...
