Arduino IoT Cloud now supports ESP32 devices

Geeky Gadgets 9:29 am Over the weekend the official Arduino team has announced that the Arduino IoT Cloud service now supports ESP32 devices, ” bringing IoT devices of all kinds together”. This week’s press release explains a little more about what you can expect from the new ESP32 support in the Arduino Cloud. For more details on how you can get your ESP32 device into the Cloud, jump over to the official Arduino website by following the link below. “Arduino’s been working on this for some time, and we’re really excited to introduced ESP32 support by including the Arduino Core developed by Espressif on the Arduino Cloud platform. This opens up cloud-connected projects to a whole new world of IoT devices, projects and possibilities. Web Editor is by far the most convenient way to program an ESP32, and to connect it and control it via a cloud platform.

Arduino Pro looks to redefine smart agriculture with new Edge Control

Arduino Pro looks to redefine smart agriculture with new Edge Control Arduino Pro has announced the launch of the Arduino Edge Control, a smart remote solution for monitoring and control, designed to deploy AI on the edge. Optimised for outdoor environments and easy to place anywhere, this solution is intended for precision farming, smart agriculture, and any application requiring intelligent control in isolated locations. The Arduino Edge Control can be expanded with 2G, 3G, CatM1, or NB-IoT modems, Lora, Sigfox, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth connectivity and can be managed remotely via the Arduino Cloud or third-party solutions and can be powered via solar panels, which means the Edge Control can be used in the most remote of locations.

Arduino Edge Control targets remote outdoor locations

Arduino Edge Control targets remote outdoor locations Just to flag to Gadget Master readers that there is a new Arduino board on the block – the Arduino Edge Control. A remote monitoring and control system, it’s designed for deploying AI at the edge, in remote outdoor locations. Smart farming (hydroponics/aquaponics) or construction sites are among the suggestions by the Arduino team. Our esteemed technology editor Steve Bush has already covered the release of the board – see Arduino aims at outdoor edge AI, in farming perhaps – so I’ll simply quote some of his details: “It has a lot of interfaces (table below) can be expanded with 2G, 3G, CatM1, or NB-IoT modems, Lora, Sigfox, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth connectivity, and managed remotely via the Arduino Cloud or third-party solutions.

Circular Arduino MKR IoT Carrier board is full of sensing

Circular Arduino MKR IoT Carrier board is full of sensing Now joining the Arduino MKR series of boards – aimed at IoT projects – is the MKR IoT Carrier, a new carrier board with a colour display and embedded sensors. Small and circular, it can read fingerprints, there’s a proximity sensor for swiping your hand across the face of the device, a motion detector, colour detection, gesture sensing and environment sensors also relay temperature, humidity and air pressure. It’s all displayed in a cute central circular screen. And there are also five RGB Leds up for grabs. Check out the video below to see how easy the MKR IoT Carrier is to use. Just plug in the SD Card and battery and go.
