Ambucs to host blood screening May 1 The Ambucs Blood Screening Program will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. May 1 at the Blair County Convention Center, Altoona. Register today and get a 36-test blood screening for $55. Optional tests are available for an additional cost. A 12-hour fast is required for the testing. Masks and social distancing are requested. This annual event is open to the public. Reserve your space by calling 814-889-4222. Proceeds from the blood screening event will benefit Ambucs to further support local programs and services in the community. The Altoona Chapter of Ambucs is a fun, energetic group helping children, teens and adults with disabilities. It serves the community by providing therapeutic AmTrykes, educational scholarships for physical therapists and residential ramp building.
