i m ari melber live in washington where congress held this historic vote to expel indicted republican congressman george santos. on this vote, the yeas are 311, the nays are 114. two-thirds voting in the affirmative, the resolution is adopted. the chair announces to the house that in light of the expulsion of the gentleman from new york, mr. santos, the whole number of the house is now 434. that is exactly how it just went down. george santos, the now-former congressman, could be seen walking off the house floor for the last time during this session of congress. there he is with a handshake. this is a major shift, because republicans had previously, until today, stood by santos through the earlier scandals, the bad press, and even his initial indictment. this change came fast, santos going from that floor to exiting capitol hill as staff literally changed the locks to the offices, you see there, that he is no longer holding. this dam politically and legislatively broke wi
