Hitting back at Kerala Governor Arif Muhammad Khan over his orders demanding the resignation of the vice-chancellors of nine universities in the state, law minister P Rajeev has said nowhere in any regulation of the University Grants Commission (UGC) or in the Constitution does it say that the Chancellor should be the Governor.
